Update on COVID -19 Lockdown

Dear Parents and Guardians
Please be advised that a homework pack will be shared with students on Monday morning from their classroom teacher. Work packs will be shared using online classroom platforms ie. Class Dojo or Google Classroom depending on what your child's teacher uses.

If any families encounter problems accessing the homework packs please contact the school to arrange a time to come in and pick up a hard copy of the pack.
Prep students have a homework pack that has been brought home. This will form the basis of the work for the three days.
During the three day period, classroom teachers will be contactable through  the class online platform.
In regards to on-site supervision the department have just shared the guidelines which read as follows.
'Schools must continue to provide on-site supervision for students in the following categories:
  • Children whose parents are considered essential workers as listed by the premier, cannot work from home and where no other supervision arrangements can be made
  • Vulnerable children, including children in out-of-home care, children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm and children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service).'

If your child falls into one of these categories it is imperative that an email is sent to the school email sydenham.ps@education.vic.gov.au with the students name (first and surname), year level and teacher. We will also need to know the extend of the onsite supervision in terms of whether your child will require whole day supervision or part day, and which days over the period your child will require supervision.
The school day for on-siste supervision will begin at 9.00 and finish at 3.10. If students need supervision outside of these hours they will need to attend before and after school care as school gates will be locked.

Kind Regards
Ben Russell
